Ramayana Masam - 2025

Ramayana Masam is observed in the Malayalam month of Karkidakam, when Malayalees traditionally read the Ramayana at home and in temples. It is believed that reciting the epic during this spiritually significant and challenging month brings strength, protection, and blessings to households.

Karkida Vaavu Bali Tharpanam - 2025

Karkida Vaavu Bali Tharpanam is a Hindu ritual performed in Kerala on the new moon day of the Malayalam month Karkidakam, where devotees offer prayers and “bali” (oblations) to departed ancestors for their peace and liberation. It is believed that performing this ritual on this day brings blessings to the family and helps ancestors attain moksha (spiritual liberation).

Cancer Council Morning Tea - 2025

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, hosted by Organisation Of Hindu Malayalees NSW INC. , in support of the Cancer Council Foundation.

VISHU Celebrations - 2025

Vishu is the traditional New Year festival celebrated in Kerala, symbolizing renewal and prosperity. The day begins with viewing the Vishukkani — a carefully arranged display of auspicious items. It represents hope, abundance, and the start of a new agricultural cycle. Vishu also strengthens family bonds through rituals, feasting, and the exchange of blessings.

Attukal Pongala - 2025

Attukal Pongala is a 10-day religious festival celebrated at the Attukal Bhagavathy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram in the Indian state of Kerala. On the ninth day there is a huge gathering of millions of women on the temple surroundings. This year Organisation of Hindu Malayalees NSW, celebrated Attukkal Pongala on Sunday 9th March 2025 from 8.30am at Minto temple
